Technical Lead/Sr. AppDeveloper

Outline of role - scope and purpose

• Design and Development of Cash Equities Front Office Order Management System.
• Mentoring and oversight of junior members of the team
• Provide leadership in the Design and Development of Cash Equities Front Office Order Management System.

The Role Title will take on the following responsibilities:

• Liase with business analysts / users to gather and clarify requirements
• Create and agree designs and implementation approach working with architecture and product management team
• Implement technical solutions along and provide technical mentoring to team member
• Recommend and lead efforts for technical improvement and innovation
• Provide 3^rd level support

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

(Minimum essential to effectively deliver the key outputs)

Mandatory:

• At least 6 years development experience on the Java platform
• Experience of delivering high performance, fault tolerant and robust real time systems (experience of delivering critical financial systems is an added advantage)
• Experience of multithreaded systems

Preferred:

• Prior experience in a financial industry / Equities business knowledge is an added advantage
• Experience of Equities Order Management System experience is a big plus
• Experience of handling FIX Messages

Profile:

The Build Manager leads the development team in the support of our Global Cash Execution Trading Platform. This experienced individual should have a proven track record of leading development teams in a world class financial services organization. We are looking for an outstanding candidate to lead an agile, highly professional team that collaborates with Software Engineers, Quality Assurance professionals, and Business Analytics in the delivery of high-availability zero-latency technology supporting client-facing trading algorithms. This person is responsible for managing software delivery, reporting to the Product Lead and partnering with business sponsors and the functional teams.

Responsibilities:

Prioritizes, scopes, estimates, and manages the team(s) responsible for the development and implementation of AD projects.

Responsible for the mobilization, management and delivery of multiple application development projects.

Creates an excellent working and client relationship with regional and vertical heads, software engineers, Quality Assurance professionals, and Business Analyst

Accountabilities include supervision of software design, component architecture, software testing, and software delivery.

Prioritization and management of software defects and enhancements.

Responsible for iteration planning, scrum meeting, burn down analysis, and software release scheduling.

Responsible for continuous improvement of; processes, product development schedules, product quality, technology and resource skills.

Accountable for review of projects plans, project approvals and resource allocations.

Sets development team organization - roles, responsibilities, disciplines and processes.

Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members.

Ensures integration of projects within the project portfolio and adjusts project scope, resources, timing and budgets as needed.

Is responsible for tracking key project milestones and critical dates within the project portfolio and communicating information to all Project Managers

Contributes to continuous improvement and promotes leverage of successful products and processes from across IM Technology.

Manages senior team members, monitoring project milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule and identify / mitigate risk.

Qualifications/Skills:

Understanding of product development lifecycle and iterative development methods with a commitment to quality and excellence

Expert in multiple technology languages and design techniques as well as experience working across large environments with multiple operating systems / infrastructure

Evidential experience designing high availability, 24x7 trading environments.

Proven ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Excellent listening, written, analytical, strategic and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage numerous and changing priorities and meet deadlines.

Demonstrated leadership skills in a collaborative and team oriented style.

Strategic thinking and problem solving skills.

Product Manager Role Description

Participates in a project as a team member. Assists in planning, executing, and monitoring the project. Responsible for delivering specific solutions on-time, on-budget and with high quality. May focus and develop expertise in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Knowledge Management, Resource Management, Quality Management, Control Management.

Works across the whole project lifecycle, researching new products and markets, business process changes, or system modifications. Responsible for management of business requirements for applications and associated documentation.
