Just wanted to share some requirements from an Investment Bank in Singapore/Mumbai, please find the Job Profiles below:-

Job Location : Singapore or Mumbai

Job Type : Permanent

Designation : Specialist / Sr. Specialist / AVP / VP

Requirement 1: C++, STL, Unix

Essential Skills (Technical / Business Domain / Managerial/ Soft skills)

Good C++ skills including STL, basic design patterns. Sybase (both client library and basic SQL) including design and building new tables, triggers and stored procedures, etc. A working knowledge of Solaris9 and/or Linux including build process and code management etc. Knowledge of n-tier systems is essential, as is an in-depth understanding of multithreading techniques in object oriented programming.

Good communication and writing skills: being able to aim technical discussions at the right audience and versatile enough to ‘brainstorm’ around topics.

Desired Skills (Technical / Domain / Managerial/ Language skills)

Linux, Java (1.4.x and Java6 and above): mostly server-side but also client-side would be of benefit, GNU products including GNU CVS, gcc, g++. Web services (mostly Apache Tomcat related but could vary).

Essential Skills (Technical / Business Domain / Managerial/ Soft skills)

• Hands on developer with server side development skills in C++, with at least 4 years of working experience in C++, preferably on Linux/UNIX.
• Core JAVA (1.6 and above), multithreading, Java Collections, JDBC, software frameworks, Design Patterns.
• Candidate must come from a Top University with a first class degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or related Math's or other analytical degree.
• The candidate must have used STL and written threaded servers.

• Candidates must have actively used design patterns in the past implementation and demonstrate strong understanding on design pattern of why and where a pattern should be used.
• Strong understanding of Messaging Middleware concepts, usage and application.
• Experience with distributed architecture (caching, topologies, etc) and able to demonstrate strong understanding of latency, concurrency, reconciliation etc.
• Working knowledge of XML.
• Strong understanding of a RDBMS. Must have an understanding of writing complex SQL, stored procedures, applying referential integrity & performance tuning
• Strong analytical skills required to solve complicated technical problems.
• Candidate must be a strong team player with excellent communication skills. The candidate must demonstrate strong analytical skills with a desire to learn and deliver.

Desired Skills (Technical / Domain / Managerial/ Language skills)

• Business domain knowledge in FX
• Scripting experience (Shell, Perl, etc.)
• Position management experience (margin trading etc)
• Experience in working with Front office systems.
• Background in finance is desirable but not required
