Development Manager (VP Level) – 15+ Years of Experience
As an Applications Development Manager, you will be a critical member of a large team of developers providing high quality technology solutions that address Commercial Credit Card business needs.

This is a highly demanding position that fulfills an important role within the CCIT Engineering organization. As an Application Development Manager, you will work closely with an On-shore Engineering Director and Development Manager to understand business and/or development demands, define processes within location and perform HR and technical leadership.

As a Development Manager, you will be accountable for the work with IT leadership to understand IT strategy and their implication to application(s) under responsibility. You will be accountable to the Technology Management for end to end application scoping, planning, development, implementation and post-implementation maintenance and support. You will manage development and implementation of enhancements/changes; oversee installations including the final production acceptance review and sign-off. You will also provide input in the formal performance testing process; help manage the relationship with internal and external services vendors to ensure superior service delivery for all application core technologies; and manage application developers to adhere the Service Level Agreement"s define by our business partners. .

You will manage individual workload and work with the team to deliver to agreed upon project milestones; identify/mitigate risks to delivering solution on time; and act as a team leader, providing support and a review point, for Project Managers and Developers. You will oversee activities associated with 3-4 leads and 5-10 developers. You will provide individuals with constructive feedback as it pertains to team performance; coach staff in technical matters and delivering on other job-related responsibilities; conduct performance reviews, appraisals and personal development planning with each team member; and promote effective teamwork and resolve interpersonal issues.


Requirements:
College degree or specialized training / equivalent work experience
Minimum seven years of relevant development life cycle experience in systems and applications management including systems/application design
Strong project management and team management skills e.g. planning, budgetary control, people management etc.
Strong written and communication skills. Candidate must have prepared written weekly status reports for all work streams.
Expertise in managing web based Java development projects for large scale/high performance applications interfacing with multiple external vendor provided interfaces that support the on-line web application services for thousands of concurrent users requiring 24x7 availability.
Experience implementing quality guidelines, standards and procedures including, the following: IBM Rational toolset (Req Pro, ClearQuest, ClearCase, integrating with Quality Center via synchronization plug-in.
Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple work streams including Business Analysts, Developers, Infrastructure, Architecture, etc.
Technical background in Java (Spring Framework) on BEA Web Logic/Unix, J Unit/DB Unit, Oracle 11g, DataStage (ETL), Business Objects/Crystal 8.0, and GoldenGate. Datawarehouse reporting experience is also preferred.
The individual will be responsible for addressing Level 3 production support issues and ensure the following: review and triage of daily incidents; enforcing proper incident documentation/peer review and closure tasks are followed, owning issue resolution for priority 1/severity 1 escalated incidents requiring immediate root cause and resolution, complying with established IT architectural, Risk, and operational standard procedures.

Sr. Off-shore Engineer (AVP Level) – 9+ Yrs of Experience
As a Senior Java Developer, you will be a critical member of a large team of developers providing high quality technology solutions that address Commercial Credit Card business needs.

This is a highly demanding position that fulfills an important role within the CCIT Engineering organization. As a lead developer, you will be responsible for quickly and thoroughly reviewing detailed design specifications, identifying design gaps/discrepancies based on your review and understanding of the business requirements, and engaging with other junior development team members and on-shore team leads to drive development efforts through to their completion.

As a Senior Developer, you will be participating in various phases of software development life cycle such as design, build, and implementation and you will be responsible for not only analyzing and reviewing design documents, but also good quality code. As a senior developer you will be responsible for ensuring CCIT development coding standards and best practices are applied consistently throughout the SDLC.

You will participate in project planning sessions with on-shore Engineering and Solutions Design Teams to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. You will participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply with Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps. You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. Additionally, you will translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/Enhance software application modules. You will lead and participate in code reviews with your peers and ensure that all solutions are aligned to predefined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation.

Requirements:
Minimum 5-10 years of Java Web Application Development work experience
The ideal candidate will need to have excellent communications skills, have experience working within a large development effort, will have significant experience utilizing and contributing to written technical specifications as well as programming/developing deliverables.
The candidate should have exposure to developing large scale/high performance web solutions in a technology environment that requires 24 x 7 availability, primarily a Java/Oracle based, multi-tiered web-based environment using Java/Spring Framework, Oracle 11g, DataStage (ETL) running on the BEA Web Logic on the unix platform.
The candidate must have experience with source control software, preferably ClearCase and will have worked in an environment that managed / merged at least two (2) concurrent versions of code.
The candidate must also have experience in using IBM rational ClearCase, ClearQuest, RSA, and Req Pro
The individual may also be required to address Level 3 production support issues and ensure the following: triage database and application data incidents; peer review and/or remediate application defects, develop and/or peer review data cleanup/fix scripts, while complying with established IT architectural, Risk, and operational standard procedures.
Candidate must have experience writing PL/SQL stored procedures on Oracle 11g database. Experience with data replication via Golden Gate , ETL data load tools such as Data Stage, along with Business Objects experience is a plus.

Requirement 1: C++, STL, Unix

Essential Skills (Technical / Business Domain / Managerial/ Soft skills)

Good C++ skills including STL , basic design patterns. Sybase (both client library and basic SQL) including design and building new tables, triggers and stored procedures, etc. A working knowledge of Solaris9 and/or Linux including build process and code management etc. Knowledge of n-tier systems is essential, as is an in-depth understanding of multithreading techniques in object oriented programming.

Good communication and writing skills: being able to aim technical discussions at the right audience and versatile enough to ‘brainstorm’ around topics.

Desired Skills (Technical / Domain / Managerial/ Language skills)

Linux, Java (1.4.x and Java6 and above): mostly server-side but also client-side would be of benefit, GNU products including GNU CVS , gcc, g++. Web services (mostly Apache Tomcat related but could vary).

• Must show an understanding of the underlying implementation of most common containers. Provide practical examples of where he/she applied this knowledge.

• Threads
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate an understanding of threading. Various thread models, implementations, and a specific OS implementation (NT, XP, Solaris, or POSIX on a flavour of UNIX). Must have applied these skills in a high performance environment (Data communications / Networking, market data capture, other engineering disciplines etc).
• Candidate must know the pitfalls related to threading - usage, performance, OS specific (any)
• Demonstrate practical solution to real day problems. Textbook knowledge will not be sufficient

• Candidates must have actively used design patterns in the past implementation and demonstrate strong understanding on design pattern of why and where a pattern should be used.
• Strong understanding of Messaging Middleware concepts, usage and application.
• Experience with distributed architecture (caching, topologies, etc) and able to demonstrate strong understanding of latency, concurrency, reconciliation etc.
• Working knowledge of XML.
• Strong understanding of a RDBMS. Must have an understanding of writing complex SQL, stored procedures, applying referential integrity & performance tuning
• Strong analytical skills required to solve complicated technical problems.
