Job Description:
We are looking for the brightest tool-builders who love to wring the last ounce of performance out of large, virtualized clusters of machines.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Solid understanding of computer science concepts including algorithms (in particular searching, sorting and data retrieval), data structures, operating systems, database systems, and networking.
- Deep knowledge of all layers of the LAMP stack - Linux, Apache, Mysql, PHP. Knowledge of HTML / CSS / Javascript is a plus.
- Excellent problem solving skills
- A flexible attitude with a focus on getting stuff done.
- A strong work ethic and a proven ability to deliver challenging projects on time
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze/Optimize performance of a distributed ad serving system
- Build logging/analysis tools to help developers improve system robustness
- Build real-time reporting/targeting capabilities for the ad server using open-source tools like Redis / Memcache / Cassandra.
- Create automation tools for managing administration tasks for Vdopia's cloud-based infrastructure
SPECIFIC SKILLS:
- Thorough Knowledge about creating/maintaining the infrastructure for high-traffic sites
- Enthusiasm for creating tools/solutions which automate error-prone manual processes
- Understanding of issues in scaling web applications, and experience in solving them.
Experience : 3-5yrs
